The correct term that describes the inflammation of the skin around the nail is "Paronychia." This condition can occur when the skin surrounding the nail becomes infected, often resulting in swelling, redness, and pain. It can arise from a variety of causes, including a bacterial or fungal infection, trauma, or excessive moisture.

Other terms provided describe different nail-related conditions. "Mantel," for example, does not refer to a specific nail condition and may confuse those familiar with nail anatomy. "Onycholysis" refers to the separation of the nail from the nail bed, which is distinct from inflammation. "Onychorrhexis" is the term for brittle nails characterized by longitudinal ridges and splits. Each of these terms highlights a unique aspect of nail health, but Paronychia specifically pertains to the inflammation around the nail, making it the appropriate choice in this context.
